New TV Show

Okay, maybe it’s not a huge success in the making, but I think it’s pretty exciting. There’s a new movie on Cat TV called Leaf Terminator which is a sequel to Rake Man. It’s exciting because it stars My Uncle Scott and My Daddy!

In the show, the leaves are the bad guys who are trying to hide the grass and the acorns from Chipmunk and Squirrely. Uncle Scott plays the Leaf Terminator, a hero from a distant land who brings a machine that will push the leaves in the street. Daddy plays his sidekick who uses 2 rakes to help Leaf Terminator get all of the leaves away.

I’m not saying anything bad about Daddy or Uncle Scott. They are great actors! But the script is why it’s a Sunday morning show and not a summer sunny day show. To make it work at all they had to get big names like Chipmunk and Squirrely in the show and Chipmunk and Squirrely don’t even make an appearance! They’re just the reason why getting the leaves away is important. And the story is so simple. Last year we tried the Pay-Per-View, Leaf Grinder. It starred an actor I don’t know who is a popular paid actor from another street. It was okay, but Mommy didn’t want to get the Pay-Per-View again because we weren’t that interested.

In the first movie, Rake Man, the leaves are raked into the street, but some of them stay and that’s enough to make more leaves. You knew there was going to be a sequel! You leave some, you get more. Well, duh! We leave dog treats for Santa Paws and he leaves us treats AND toys in our stockings. That’s where that idea came from.

The sequel has a little more action in it, but there was an intermission and an infomercial! It seems Uncle Scott was paid extra to come in from the TV and tell about how you can get a noisy blower just like the Leaf Terminator. I think that would, be scary. But it would scare Carla too. Hmmm… Does the infomercial sell earplugs?

The sad thing is, Daddy is IN the movie and he is thinking about it. Maybe he wants to be the star next time.

Braver

Hi everyone! I’m all better now, really. There is a silver lining to my sore eye. Mommy felt so bad about my eye hurting that she’s afraid to touch my eye dirt! Okay, maybe not afraid, but she actually listens to me when I don’t want her messing with it. I let her clean my eyes when I feel like it and I let her hold me and get really calm. I think she and Daddy feel bad about putting stuff in my eye. They said it was good for it, but how do they know it didn’t just get better and had nothing to do with the goop they put in it?

That’s another thing, silly Carla. When I couldn’t type because the computer light hurt my sore eye, she told everyone my eye had an affection. My eye had an INfection, they put stuff IN it. I still would have liked it better if I had a outfection, so they’d have to stay out of my eye.

Monday was the scariest night of the year again. Why is there an invasion every year? Mommy made more candy bombs than ever this year and they worked, like they always do. Mommy is my hero! The swarms were pretty heavy for a while. I stayed upstairs with Carla and listened to them coming to the door and heard them trying to trick Mommy into letting them in to pull our tails and those awful things they do when they run towards cats. Mommy threw the candy bombs at them. I think people kitten monsters have a candy addiction and when you throw the candy bomb at them the get so crazy about the candy they run off in another direction because they forget the wanted to get a cat.

Candy Zombies trying to come in the Cat TV screen is scary stuff! But I was really brave again this year. That picture is me checking on the extra ammunition. Mommy throws those if she runs out of candy bombs. She sits right in front of the TV screen so the candy zombies can't get in. I stayed behind her. Scary movies are okay once in a while, but the Candy Zombies are just too scary to want to be right by the screen like Carla and I usually like to be.

Thankfully, it’s over for another year and the swarm of candy zombies trying to come through the TV is gone. The scariest night of the year is over!

One last note today – We have officially dedicated our blog to Baggle, Chester and Aunt Azzie. Carla never met Chester or Aunt Azzie, but she would have liked them. Chester was such a sweet brother and Aunt Azzie was the coolest old cat a kitten could know. She taught me so much! Sharing our happy cat world with all of our readers is our tribute to those three great cats!

Spring

Behind Dark Eyes
Spring

Cat TV is getting ready for the new season of all the great shows! I excited because that means we’ll all watch TV together again. Kaline and Baggle don’t watch The White Show. They like the comedies better, I guess. Don’t get me wrong! I like the crazy antics of Wild Birds of Ohio as much as any cat and who doesn’t like Chipmunk? But The White Show is a good show too! I like the drama and suspense as all of the things get covered in white, cars with humans in them creep along and skid and you know it’s cold and wet on TV! It makes me happy I’m warm and dry. There is also a sneaky artist on The White Show called Rabbit. Rabbit comes on and paints paws all over the white. It’s neat when you watch and see his works but even cooler when you look real close to the screen when it’s dark and can see him painting. I guess Kaline and Baggle aren’t in to art as much as me.

Kaline says proud is a human word that means, “you did something, so I get something.” I’m proud of Kaline and how good she’s doing in Obedience School because she’s getting us extra treats all the time! I can’t wait until I’m 4 and get to take Obedience School classes! I haven’t decided if I’m going to let Kaline and Baggle be proud or if I’m going to keep all the treats for me. I’ll probably let them be proud. Kaline says if you do well, there is ALWAYS more treats.

Kaline told me that she was up early with Mommy and heard Cardinals! It would be so cool if I could catch a Cardinal! When Cardinals lose, it’s cat treats for everyone, but if CARLA wins, it’s cat treats for ME! I’m gonna keep watch. If I see that Cardinal, I’m gonna catch him and trade him in for my bounty!

Finally, A New Blog!

..
The BEST show on CAT TV is back!
..
Wow, it’s been too long since I’ve put paws to keyboard, huh? It’s, of course, all Mommy’s fault. When she gets obsessed with school stuff, the cats suffer. I try to be understanding, but jeez, really she is SLOW! I take my Obedience School classes online too, so what time I could manage to get on the computer I had to go to school, not blog.

I did really good for the winter semester, of course. Baggle was so excited because I took religious studies. That was his favorite class. I didn’t get the same message he did from that class. Cats were once worshiped as gods by people but they aren’t anymore. It’s the last part that he doesn’t believe. I got that cats are the next best thing to God. That’s why people need us. They share their thumbs and we put a good word in for them. It’s funny how there are so many ways to be religious but they all end up meaning the same thing. If I’m good to other animals and people, God will be happy. That’s not always easy. I figured out I even had to be nice to Carla! But that’s okay. When we gave being nice to each other a try, we found out we like it.

Speaking of Carla, Baggle and I have been talking about her writing for Behind Orange Eyes. He thinks it would be a good idea. I don’t. I learned to write in human as a little kitten writing on my kitten website. Carla still uses a translator program and those things are not quite right a lot of times. They can make pretty funny sentences sometimes. She sent me an email, in human, to prove she could write in human. There were a couple of sentences that were so funny because the translator didn’t now the cat-slang, so they came out half in human and half in cat. Hilarious! Baggle says he’s going to help her learn human so she can blog. We’ll see how that goes.

In the really important stuff, they almost cancelled my favorite CAT TV show, Chipmunk! Baggle and I were all excited about sharing our favorite with our new sister, but it was late getting back on. Mommy was very upset. She was looking for ways to protest, she was going to call the network and demand they cancel Lawn Spray Guy if they weren’t gonna have Chipmunk anymore. Lawn Spray Guy is a scary show. Lawn Spray Guy is a master of disguise who always looks like a new stranger and he gets really close to the screen. It’s too scary for me and I don’t watch it. But then Chipmunk came back so Mommy wasn’t so mad anymore. Daddy said Lawn Spray Guy was better than Dandy Lion. I guess Dandy Lion is an older show that Lawn Spray Guy replaced, but I don’t ever remember a TV show with Lions.

Baggle will probably want to write some later since Mommy isn’t hogging the computer for school. So, I’ll finish here. Chipmunk comes on soon!

I Was SO Brave!

Yep, that’s me last night! You read that right, LAST NIGHT, Halloween! I stayed downstairs when the spooky spirits tried to come in from the Cat TV screen. The spookies still came in bunches and they were scary too. So many of them from outer space last night, Mommy and Daddy did so good fending them off last year that they called for backups from outer space! Then there was one who tried to trick us into thinking he was a dog, but I saw a people face! It was a small people in a dog suit! That was really scary. I might have come closer and been nice to a dog and then, bam, they take me away from my home, family and treats to live in the TV. I do not want to live in the TV. It’s fun to watch, but I bet scary to live in.

But I trust Mommy and Daddy. They threw those candy bombs at the spookies and the spookies ran. Most of them made threats or anyway, they said “thank you.” Like “thank you” is sincere when you say it after someone throws a candy bomb at you to make you run away. But I stayed downstairs mostly, except when I went to check on Baggle, who was still hiding. I told him it was safe with Mommy and Daddy on the front lines. Well, right behind the screen. They said it was warmer last year when they were in front of the TV screen on the other side. Of course it was warm last year. They put fire in the pumpkin! This year Daddy painted with marker on the pumpkin and they put the pumpkin on the other side of the TV screen. No fire in it meant it wasn’t warm. Parents over-think things sometimes.

So the spookies swarm ended and lights went out on TV. We used up all the candy bombs Mommy made and some of the extra candy ammunition, but there was a lot left. Mommy says those are treats for people. They don’t smell like much, but Daddy sure seems to like the pills rolled up in little tubes. They call them Smarties. I guess if he eats enough of them, he’ll remember that fire makes it warm.

So Baggle and I survived another Halloween together. He’s a good brother, even if he is still chicken on Halloween. Baggle wants to write a blog too, but we decided we could share mine. I want to ask Mommy to make him a logo so you’ll know when he’s writing and when it’s me. That might take a little while because Mommy and Daddy are very busy right now. They keep telling us that we might even have to help out! For the last week they’ve been talking about something Mommy is going to do and that Baggle and I will have assist her tomorrow. Can’t imagine what is so important that we have to help, but we kinda owe Mommy and Daddy for getting us treats in Iowa during the honey moon, so well get ready for assist her tomorrow. Well, I have cat manager stuff to do before I cuddle up with Mommy and Daddy in bed.

Sad News and Dog TV??

.Did you ever get the feeling you were being watched by a dog?

I have some really sad news today. One of the feline stars of cat TV went to the Rainbow Bridge yesterday.

Scaredy Cat was a great actor. Some cats thought he was typecasted because he was a black cat, but I think it was just that he was a really great stunt-cat. He prowled around yards on Cat-TV, stalking the bugs and checking things out, but if there was the slightest noise, he broke into a comic sprint, scrambling to hide from whatever it was that made the noise. Mommy and Daddy sometimes used the interactive screens to make a door noise and that would set him into his act. Yesterday a stunt went terribly wrong.

It was a normal stunt he’d done so many times before. He hears a noise and makes a sprint across the street and gets barked at by Neighbor Dog. But yesterday he was off his game and a miscue brought a car coming down the road seconds too soon. It was Scaredy Cat’s last stunt.

When Mommy came home after dark, “Mr. Dad” from the House Across The Street Show met her by her car. I think he was in shock. Scaredy Cat did his stunts so good, how could it have happened? He had heard that Baggle was a mostly black cat and thought maybe he was doing a screen test or something. Mommy got scared. She was gone most of the day. Did Baggle run off to be on Cat TV when she was leaving??

I don’t think I’ve ever seen her so happy to see Baggle when she came in as she was last night. I was a little jealous, but we both got treats, so it was okay. Sadly, though, it really was Scaredy Cat that died in the show. Mommy just kept saying “That’s why you’re HOUSE cats. That’s why you don’t go outside near the busy streets.” I think she was in shock too. I mean, if a skilled actor like Scaredy Cat can get into a terrible accident, well, Baggle and I aren’t trained in stunt sprinting at all.

Scaredy Cat was a shy cat and didn't say a lot about his family, so Mr Dad has been trying to find his next of kin to make sure they know. Please say a prayer for Scaredy Cat and his humans.

I did find out one weird thing, though. Dog, from the House Across The Street Show, is a fan of Baggle and me! Can you imagine? He sees us watching Cat-TV and likes to watch. It creeps me out a little. We don’t do anything but relax and watch TV, but Mr. Dad says he watches us all the time! I think I’d probably get bored with the action on Dog-TV, but I won’t insult my fans. I guess if you have talent, you really can make it on reality TV, and we watch Cat-TV REALLY WELL!

Well, I can’t disappoint my fans. Falling Leaves is on and they are counting on me watching it!

School Online

Mommy and I do our schoolwork on the heated seat!

I’m just sending a short hello today from my heated seat with a computer before Mommy chases me off. We share the seat too. I like sharing things with Mommy as long as she waits her turn! Mommy doesn’t sit on it though. She warms up her wrists with it.

Baggle and I watched Lawnmower Man, starring our Dad, this morning and I HOPE we get to see Chipmunk this afternoon, but it could get bumped for Saturday afternoon Terror Theater. They might be showing Wet World again. It’s an okay show, but I don’t really like scary movies. Last weekend, they cancelled all the regular shows for the miniseries, Carnival at the Catholic Church. That’s a noisy show and all kinds of humans walking in shorts and eating cotton candy gets old by Saturday night.

Mommy uses the heated seat with a computer all the time! She says she’ doing school work. I understand that. I’m taking online classes for obedience school too. I think I’m doing better in school than Mommy is because she keeps reading that book over and over. It’s not because it’s a good book either, I looked at it. In fact she made me get off it when I was looking. I think that’s because I understand it better than she does and she’s embarrassed.

There are puzzle pictures and you have to figure out what they are. They’re a bunch of computers. Mommy looks and still has to go back and read other pages to know that. She says she needs to know what kind they are. Well duh! They’re paper computers and paper computers don’t work, so the kind is “broken.” That’s not fire truck science! Maybe learning just isn’t for Mommy. I don’t have the heart to tell her though.

She also plays a video game that she says is for school...yeah. In the video game you pick out computers and put wire on them. Then you have your cat come and step on the right buttons to undo the wires and see if you can remember where they go. There isn’t anything like THAT in cat obedience school!

In MY class, I’m leaning about the word “obey.” Obey is what dogs and people do, but not together. Dogs do it for people and people do it for cats. Our homework is to get our people to write about “obey” and put it on a blog. Mommy is typing for me today.

See? I’m doing much better than Mommy is in school! I guess I’m gifted.

Staff Troubles and New TV Shows

How could they leave darling kitties like us without staff?

I’m kinda mad. Mommy and Daddy went somewhere and I figured out how to turn the computer on so I can blog, but I don’t know how to upload pictures! I’m the cat! I have staff to do that. I delegate. But my staff isn’t in the office. Something about Easter weekend and Saturday dinner. Anyway, I’m going to have Mommy add the picture when she gets home. I need to talk to Baggle. We just can’t have staff take the day off at the same time. Hmph.

Cat TV has been really good this year. The new spring season started and there is a new show that is so cool! We see Squirrely every day in the big front screen on Cat TV. Squirrel, the star of Squirrely is just one of the best actors ever. He is a super hero who scaled trees like he is a giant bug, only he’s faster than a bug. He saves nuts in distress and carries them up the big oak tree to put them back where they came from. I just love action shows.

We also have the Weekday Morning Fights. Animal sports are cool and quicker than people sports. They don’t require a ball either. The current champion is Northside Robin. He has beaten Southside Robin lots of times. Southside Robin is a tough guy though. He keeps coming back to challenge again. Sometimes they have a comedy show between matches. It’s kinda like the people clowns at the rodeo, only its bird clowns. This team of clowns called the Sparrows fly in and mess with Northside Robin. He’s a cool champion. He plays along like the Sparrows are a that and the Sparrows fly off. It makes me laugh so hard I almost fall off the tale I sit on!

Oh an great news! Remember how I told you about Mommy and Daddy getting married? Well, now they said they got some money for getting married and they're going to get us the paid channel for Wild Birds of Ohio!! I guess they're going to stay home for dinner and spend the money for this wedding on us instead of getting married again. I guess that means I should forgive them for wanting to go out for Easter dinner.

Say, I have a question. Why was it getting married when they dressed up before, but it’s Easter now?

Baggle says that a rabbit will come and leave us treats tonight. I wanna see this! I also want to stay up to see him because I know Baggle and he probably wants to eat that bunny. I know the Easter Bunny is supposed to leave chocolate for Mommy. I want to make sure he leaves Mommy’s chocolate before Baggle eats him. That way Mommy will be happy and give us more Steenkey Treats!

To everyone who ordered bunny chocolate, Happy Easter!!

The Wait Is Half Over!

I got a call from my Daddy today telling me to look at a website. Well, I wasn’t taking calls at the time, so my assistant took a message. It seems that the breed of Domestic Mammal Companion President has been selected. The First People-Kittens, Sasha and Malia, will be our President’s executive staff.

I’m kinda starting to get this whole politics thing. It is kinda exciting. Now we’ll wait for the new First Dog to come home so the whole country will get to meet him. It’s all pretty cool.

The First Dog will be a Portuguese Water Dog. We won’t even talk about the water thing, but I thought I heard Mommy say the President had to be born in America, not Portugal. I’ll have to do some Internet research.

Open a new can of Steenkey Treats, this could take a while.

That works for people, especially on people-tv! But no one brought me a can of Steenkey Treats! Humph.

I am dying for the new season of Cat-TV! The White Show has FINALLY ended, same as it usually does, the climax and only real action, where a dog and his human walk right past the white that’s melting away like kitty ice-cream and doesn’t even notice, then a couple ladies walk by talking and don’t see the white and then the white is gone.

Then there were some commercials for the new season on Cat-TV! I saw a promo for Squirrel. That looks pretty cool. Mommy says that they should get a bird feeder so we can watch Big Ohio World of Birds. That would be SO COOL! I’ve heard about that show on the Internet. I’d love it if we got that on our TV! Then Mommy said she’s gonna make a show called Kaline and Baggle Go To The Vet. Ha-ha, very funny Mommy. The ratings will be pretty lousy if she makes that!

But before the new season starts, we got the season that’s even worse than the White Show marathon. RERUNS! NOOOO! Why do they rerun dumb old documentaries anyway? I want to see that Squirrel and, oh, Big Ohio World of Birds would be so cool! I need to start a writing campaign. See? All the politics stuff is really getting to me!

Okay, well, when we do the final vote on the First Dog, I’ll let you know!

Happy SUNday!

Stopping by to say "hello!"

Happy Sunday friends! And I mean Sunday too! There is just enough sunshine coming in the windows in our office to make Me and Mommy smile, but not enough to make Daddy smile. Daddy says it’s not enough dependable sun to go see trains, so he’s playing on his fold-up computer downstairs grumbling. He says to the computer something about trips and flush and pears. I think it means that the trip to see trains got flushed down the water box so he wants fruit. Sometimes, I just don’t understand Daddy! Fruit is icky!

Mommy understands better. She’s great staff...well, they are both great staff. I love them a lot. But Mommy listens! I came in and rubbed her leg because I wanted a cuddle. Now I’m a big girl now, I don’t need cuddles like I did when I was sleepy when I was a kitten, but every now and then I like a good cuddle. So, I rub Mommy’s leg and she tells me she always has time to scritch me for a couple minutes. I’m not kidding! She really said that to me. Cool, huh? Well, I sat on her chest and got scritches, but I didn’t stay long enough for her to sing the Sunshine Song to me. I love it when she sings that to me, but I wanted to blog today! So I got on the desk and moved the mouse so she knew to take a break!

Cat TV is getting better. The White Show is slow, like most documentaries are, but there are points when things start to happen, and those are cool! Right now is one of those times. It’s a sad part of the show when the white starts to fade and colors show up. That’s sad because the show is about white. Myself, I like all the different shades of gray! It keeps things interesting! During the show last time I was watching, a dog and his guy walked right past all the white like he didn’t even see it! It wasn’t the First Dog though. They’re still counting ballots in that election. Elections for the leaders of the fur and feather domestic world are a little more complicated than human elections. But don’t worry, we’ll elect a First Dog soon!

Well, I just wanted to check in and say ”hi.” I’m feeling a little hungry. Think I’ll go down and see if Baggle left any kibble in the bowls!

"I'm Catman?"

I love my Daddy, even if he doesn’t know how to turn on a computer!

I watched a people movie. Well, I watched part of one. They really aren’t that good usually, but I had to watch it because Daddy said something confusing. And I watched some and it still makes no sense. He said he couldn’t help me with my blog because it would be like another Batman. HUH?

Whatever. I just need help to get on the computer. I can type. I can make a mouse do anything. I like catching mice and making them do things! But I can’t turn on the computer! I don‘t know where the turn on button is. I see Mommy just reach behind the computer and it turns on. When I do that, it doesn’t work.

I don’t think Daddy helping me blog would be like another Batman at all because I’m way better than a people movie about bats. I think Daddy doesn't know how to turn the computer on either.

Mommy has been very busy with her scrapbook store stuff and I have been very good about not being bossy, but when I realized that Mommy was the only one who knew how to help me, I had to bug her. Besides, she needs a break from her busy stuff, says Kaline!

Well, Happy New Year to the cats, dogs and people who read my blog! I guess everyone else can have a happy new year too, but if they aren’t reading here, they don’t matter as much. I want everyone to be happy, but I want them to read about me more!

A lot has been going on since the last time I blogged!

First off, I’ll mention that the new dog house STILL isn’t done for President Bark! Yeesh! I heard that he’ll finally move in this month. It’s about time! Mommy and Daddy both think it will be a good thing for the country and well, I have friends that are dogs now, so I guess a First Dog is okay. As long as the importance of sharing with other species is represented and the puppy has good staff...well, you know what I mean, dogs don’t really have staff. They aren’t known for their management capabilities, but as long as he is a good representative for the luxurious treatment of other species by humans, I will give my respect to the First Dog of the USA.

This is the worst time of year for Cat TV! Mommy and Daddy don’t open the big screens as much, but that’s okay. This is the time of year for The White Show - I hate documentaries! They are too low action. Older cats seem to like it, but I need more going on!

We had the cat toy tree again this year. I think Mommy and Daddy put it up so we have something to do during The White Show. But the tree shrunk! I went to climb in it, to try to catch the angel, and I got just a couple branches up and just couldn’t get through! I didn’t know trees could shrink! I think it’s just getting old. Things shrink when they get old. We need a new tree that’s as big as the one we had when I was a kitten!

Would you believe Mommy and Daddy got married again last month? Yep, they dressed up one day to go out for a while, and when they came back they said they were married. I heard Mommy call her friend and tell her. They sure made a big deal about it this time. It’s not like they never got dressed up before. Parents are so silly, but I kinda like that they made a big deal about getting dressed up this time. We got extra Steenkey Treats that night!

Oh, and Mommy has had an awful cold! I changed my name to the same last name as Daddy and Baggle right after I moved to Ohio. It was easier when we went to my new doctor’s office if I had an Ohio last name. One day when Mommy went out, she came home with her new name on papers. I guess she must have had to go to the doctor for her cold, so they changed her name to an Ohio name too. Well, we are really all Ohio residents now. We all have the same last name!

Well , I think I’m caught up now. I need to figure out how Mommy turns the computer on so I can do this without help next time!

What's This World Coming To?

Cats are getting squeezed out! I don’t think I like people government!

I don’t know too much about people government and I don’t really care about people politics. I really don’t. As long as they aren’t going to disband the SPCA, I don’t care. At least I used to not care. This year the people hired a new president and I’m worried.

My Aunt Azzie was really big on people politics. She used to watch them on the people-TV with her Mom. Aunt Azzie told me wonderful stories about President Clinton. He was one of the Dem Cats and the First Cat was named Socks. Then there was President Bush, she said everything he did was someplace else, nothing in America, so he wasn’t anyone important to an American cat.

The new president is President Barack, which just sounds a little bit too much like “bark” to me! And to make it worse, when he thanked everyone for hiring him, he said he was going to get his daughters a puppy. A puppy? A PUPPY? I KNEW it! His name IS too much like bark! They hired a dog-person!

To make matters worse, Mommy and Daddy were both very happy about it. They helped to hire a guy who likes DOGS!

Oh, it’s bad. Let me tell you!

Mommy and Daddy have that big people-TV, it’s not quite as big as our big screen cat-TV, but it’s big. It’s big enough that my friends Puff, Don’t Panic and Little Bear live on top of it. Well, it quit being a TV. Mommy and Daddy said it became a big blue radio.

They decided they didn’t want a big radio. Mommy needs to make a phone call to see if they can have someone make it a TV again. If they don’t make it a TV again, they’re going to get Papa to bring one of my Uncles to help take it away! Where will my friends live if they take away their home?

It’s not like President Bark will help a CAT’S friends!

And then last night, before Daddy got in, Mommy moved the metal box with the strings that is on the table next to the people-TV and put it on top of my blanket on the seat I watch TV on! It took up almost half the space!

Then, THEN, Daddy came home and instead of yelling at Mommy for doing that, he brought down another people-TV and used up the rest of my seat! He really did! Can you believe it??

To top it all off, this morning while I was TRYING to get a little space around that dumb old people-TV to peek at Cat-TV, Daddy finally did yell at Mommy. He told her not to open the screen on Cat-TV so much because the people-TV is in front of it.

I’m at a loss for words!

The people hire this dog-guy for their president and they start abusing cats. Their new president guy hasn’t even started working yet. He’s been hired, but he’s waiting over two months to start. It’s something about time to move to the city he has to work in, but the house isn’t finished yet. President Bark is moving into his house in Washington in January, after they paint it. I guess the PUPPY has to have a white house!

What’s this world coming to?

Oh The Horror EVERY Year!

The best I can figure is Mommy and Daddy used to be in the army or something. They were undercover agents. They took out their old spy uniforms last night and went out on enemy soil! I watched them set up just outside the Cat TV screen with all of their ammunition! I guess they meant business when they decided that no giant ladybugs were coming out of the TV!

An old army picture I found of Mommy
and Daddy and one of their army pals

It’s a seasonal swarm as best as I can tell, Halloween is when they all dress up scary and swarm houses. Mommy and Daddy were sitting in front of the screen. I guess it got pretty bad because they didn’t even want me to watch!

When Daddy came home he said that the pumpkin face Mommy made would scare away evil spirits. So that’s what those scary guys that look like human kittens are! I swear they look like young people. But the pumpkin didn’t scare them away either. Daddy put a fire in it and everything and they still came, for TWO HOURS they came.

I scratched at the glass a couple of times, begging them to come out of the TV and just close the screen maybe move the big people TV in front of it. That seems like the only screen the spirits try to come in through. But they were so brave! They had to protect us.

It was bad this year. Mommy used up all her candy bombs and the swarm kept coming. They had to use the candy in the bowls, like little bombs or sprinkling firecrackers. When the swarm was all done, Mommy and Daddy came in, the ammunition was almost GONE! We couldn’t have taken another strike!

I’m glad the evil spirit swarm is only once a year.

Science Cat and Stuff

The Science Cat
My experiment shows cats get pretty liquid
on this surface when it's heated up!

Hi everybody!

I know I haven’t blogged in a long time, well in about a month, which really is as much as I blogged when I was a kitten, so it’s not so bad, but I know a regular blog like grownups have is easier to do. hehe... I did not call grownups dumb! My Daddy is a busy guy with his TV show and that other job he says he has. I have no idea what he’s talking about. I thought TV WAS his other job! His full time job is ME! Well, okay, Baggle too, but cat-staff anyway. But I have seen Daddy type, so he could write if he wanted to. Mommy has a blog, so everyone knows she can write. I think it’s easier for me because I don’t have to worry about taking care of the cat, because I AM the cat!

So, summer has been pretty cool. Our favorite show is back on Cat-TV. Don’t tell my Daddy that Lawnmower Man isn’t my favorite. I love his show, really I do! I even like it when he comes on the other screen and does the knocking gag to promote Lawnmower Man. I just never get tired of the knock-gag he does. He comes right up to the screen and knocks on it like he could walk through it if he wanted to. It’s just funny! Sometimes he talks, sometimes not, but he always acts like there is a cat right there and I can’t help but cuddle the screen because, well because I see my Daddy on TV!

Well, about our favorite show, Baggle and I could watch Chipmunk all day! The actor who plays Chipmunk, the title character, is so good! We sit on the Cedar Chest right by the screen and they do close-ups. You can’t help but get into the show! It’s like he’s RIGHT THERE, like he’s sitting right next to you. It’s just so cool!

So that you don't think we do what Mommy worries about, rotting our kitty-brains in front of the TV all day, we don’t do that! I’m studying science! I’ve been doing experiments on Feline Viscosity on Solar Powered Synthetic Fibers! I’ve been reading blogs too! In one of Mommy’s blog pages about blogging, she put a link to a word blog. At dictionary dot com, I got to find out exactly what my science project was called! The Dictionary is a cool blog!

I also stopped back at my old Yahoo blog, which is where I visit my friends from the old neighborhood. My pal, Nylablue, another fine feline blogger, is on Multiply now! I sent an email to get the address to add to Mommy’s reader. I know she has her friend Dutch, who is at Multiply, on her reader. I’ll put Nyla’s address on my blog when I get it so everyone can read more cat-blogs!

Okay, Mommy says her break is over and she needs to use my computer. Parents, yeesh!

Sweet Leaf

Daddy called it “cat nip.” I call it "sweet leaf!"

We got a treat Friday, but it was a trick and it’s not even the scary holiday!

Mommy told Daddy she had a...a...what is that word she said, a puhductive week. She said she got a lot done, so I guess puhductive is tired. Why do humans use so many words that mean the same thing? If she was tired she could just say “I’m tired, I’ll stop working early.” Anyway, since Daddy was home Friday, because he went out Sunday he stayed home Friday, he asked Mommy if she waned to go chase trains after lunch. I think that’s like chasing mice for people. I think it’s a good idea for them to do that. It’s good exercise and it lets them find sweet leaf!

Daddy calls sweet leaf ”wild cat nip,” but it doesn’t nip at cats so it’s silly to call it cat nip! Sweet leaf grows near trains and Mommy and Daddy brought some home Friday night. Dumb old Baggle eats sweet leaf when he gets it. There is nothing to be gained from EATING sweet leaf! When Mommy brought it in, she laid it on the counter in the kitchen. Oh that smell! I couldn’t help myself! I jumped up on the counter to inspect!

Oh, just plunging my face into it and inhaling the wonderful smell! It makes me feel all cuddly and squirmy. I purr and rub the sweet leaf all over me. Ahhhhh! It makes me feel SO happy!

Now of course, I wouldn’t want to play with sweet leaf while I’m doing my cat-manager duties. It makes me not even care about mice or bugs! My house would be taken over in a week if we had sweet leaf all the time, but as soon as my responsibilities are done, GIVE ME MY LEAF!

There is a word of warning to all cats - don’t, I repeat, DON’T let your people be exposed to sweet leaf for too long. It makes them crazy! Not long after Mommy and Daddy came home with the sweet leaf, they collected a flashlight, our treats and Daddy’s laptop and went down into the basement! How weird is that? Daddy brought Baggle and me down too and Mommy gave us treats and sweet leaf while they watched the weather on the basement TV. Loopy parents or what? If they wanted to see the weather, they could just go outside. I wouldn’t do that, it was raining and windy, cats don’t like water, but they could look out the window upstairs and see the weather. The siren was even drowning out the sound of the thunder, so there weren’t even any boom noises.

When Baggle and I got tired of being in the basement, we went back upstairs and Mommy and Daddy yelled! Like the basement is a good place for family time! PLEASE! Then they came up caught us and put us in our carriers to go back downstairs! Talk about pushy parents. Sometimes I don't understand them! You know we could report them to the Society for the Protection of Children from Authority!

We protested being in the carriers in the basement. The TV said the lights were out. That’s why cat TV is better than people TV. The lights go out on Cat TV every night and it’s not something amazing to the humans and animals on TV. Humans on people TV act like its news when the lights go out! They said they had generators to keep the computers going. They need a laptop like Daddy! After a little while longer, Daddy said the radar looked like it was okay now. Again, look out the window for the weather! Then they opened the carriers and let us go upstairs.

The moral of the story for cats is not to let your people smell sweet leaf! What makes cats feel really good, make a human brain do weird things! But by all means, keep some sweet leaf for yourself!

My New Logo and Lawnmower Man on Cat-TV!

This is my first official Blogger-blog! Isn’t my new logo COOL? Those really are my eyes. Mommy does such neat things with that PhotoShop button on our computer. I call it “our” computer because she does such neat things with it, I feel like it’s nice to share it with her.

I hope my friends from Yahoo are visiting me here. I’d hate for them to not visit me anymore! Mommy says there is a way to 'scribe to my blog. She says people can sign up with a reader and always know when I write a new blog. I want everyone to do that! You should ‘specially do that if you work for cats in their house so hey can read! I sometimes have some really good ideas and stuff to show other cats. Besides, I think other cats can understand some of my troubles. Labor disputes - Mommy says she wants to work. I say she does work, who’s gonna give us treats during the day if she goes out somewhere all day?

Monday is the day that Daddy works the day shift. He usually goes out somewhere during the day and comes back to work at night, I think maybe he plays poker. He even plays poker on the computer during his breaks when he’s here at night! But on Mondays he works during the day with Mommy. Today was really cool, because of TV!

The "Lawnmower Man" series is back on Cat-TV!

Baggle and I were sitting in front of the cat-TV. I was at the door screen and he was watching the window screen on the Cedar chest. We have surround-TV, so we can see a different part of the show from anywhere in the house! Today we got to see one of our favorite shows! I only really like the bird-show better! Today was Lawnmower Man! Lawnmower Man is such a cool show because it stars MY DADDY!

It’s so cool to have a parent on TV! He pushes a noisy lawnmower across the grass and it chops it up! Sometimes, he looks right into the camera and smiles. It’s like he’s looking right at me! He’s just such a good TV star! Yeah, Mondays are the coolest when our whole staff is working and we get to be proud of our TV star Dad!

Make sure you leave me comments so I know you came to visit! Mommy says I’ll get a counter some time this week, but until I get one, I don’t know if you’re reading, so please say “hi!”

I like Blogger. I like my new logo!
